BIG MOUNTAIN

Big Mountain is an American band most well known for its reggae remake of Peter Frampton's "Baby I Love Your Way", which became a top 10 hit single in the US in early 1994 peaking at No. 6 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, No. 1 on the Mainstream Top 40 and No. 2 in the U.K.

The band started in San Diego, California as the Rainbow Warriors, eventually morphing into the group Shiloh. Shiloh released their debut (and sole record) "California Reggae" in 1989.

In 1991 Shiloh changed their name to Big Mountain, the name of a Native American reservation in Arizona. They first reached the charts with "Touch My Light" in 1993. After a drastic lineup change they went on receive major airplay on mainstream radio stations with "Baby I Love Your Way". The infectious single was also included on the soundtrack for the film Reality Bites. Their follow-up, "Sweet Sensual Love" reached No. 51 in the UK, whilst the album Unity went on to sell over a million copies worldwide. "Get Together" became a top five hit in Brazil and Norway.
