BIOGRAPHY Da’Ville is a Jamaican-born, Florida-based recording and performing artist known for his extensive catalog of soulful contemporary lover's rock reggae. Born Orville Thomas into a musical family in Kingston, Jamaica, Orville was nurtured by his grandmother, Ms. Fema who made sure he attended church and sang in the choir where he first realized his deep love for music.
He was inspired to pursue music professionally by his father, Nkrumah 'Jah' Thomas, a well- known figure in the reggae music industry. Jah Thomas not only had a number of notable songs to his credit but also owned and produced records for the legendary Midnight Rock label which delivered many household reggae hits for other iconic international artists throughout the years. Known professionally as Da'Ville and more recently Turii Maysun, his professional music career began as the lead vocalist of the reggae group, ARP (A Raw Perspective). After releasing a series of noteworthy hits with ARP Da'Ville went solo and signed to Penthouse Records under the management of Donovan Germain. He recorded several hit singles for his new label including " ![]() His first self-produced album 'In Heaven' (2005) charted in the top ten reggae albums in Japan. As a result of his success in Japan, the Japanese music company, Avex Group released his second album 'Can’t Get Over You' in 2006. Da'Ville would top the charts in 2006 with the singles " ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Da'Ville aka Turii Maysun continues to release his unique soulful lover's rock and tour. |
